of Missouri President Elson S. Floyd issued the following statement
today regarding the pay increase the UM Board of Curators approved
for him during its executive session on Dec. 16, 2005:
"I am grateful that the Board of Curators has approved this
raise, and I deeply appreciate the display of confidence in my
leadership. However, because of the continuing tight financial
situation faced by our University, I have decided to donate this
year’s raise, divided equally, to the development campaigns supporting
our four campuses."
The Board approved a $21,000 raise, or 6 percent, which would
bring President Floyd’s salary to $371,000 starting in January
2006. President Floyd declined a 3 percent salary increase in
November 2004.
