County Executive, Mr. Charlie A. Dooley
met with Asian American community leaders
on January 11. at his office in Clayton.
He reiterated his efforts to reach out to
the Asian American community and to bring
in resource of a multi-cultural background.
There were 13 Chinese Americans and Korean
Americans presented at the meeting. Mr.
Dooley was very sincere about his commitment
to Asian American community. He fulfilled
his promises made last November during his
election campaign. He made it very clear
that two announced positions, member of
the Library Board and the Director of Revenue,
are reserved for Asian Americans. Both positions
have no residence requirements. He welcomes
qualified citizens to apply for them.
Library Board member is a volunteer job.
There are 3.6% of Asians Americans currently
working at county libraries, it is higher
than the percentage of 2.3% Asian residents
living in St. Louis County. Director of
Revenue is a political appointee, with an
annual salary of over $100,000 and will
remain in position along with Mr. Dooley.
Applicants are preferred to have experiences
dealing with tax law, real estate assessment,
and finance management, etc. Anyone interested

There are three applications for the position
of Library Board, but none applied for the

聖路易郡這二項公職沒有居住所之限制，任何公民皆可申請，財政局局長為政務官(與郡長同進退)，年薪10萬元，申請人員如有會計、法律及企管專才更佳，主要之職責在於掌理郡財政業務包括各項稅收、規費、牌照稅收、房地產估價、基金業務等。

圖書館委員為無給職，負責規劃郡圖書館之發展方向及完善系統，目前委員中並無亞裔人士，Dooley郡長希望能有合格人士加入委員會促進圖書館教育功能多元化，據瞭解，郡圖書館亞裔職員比例為3.6%，比郡亞裔人數百分比2.3%要高，亞裔職員中有華裔黃如薰、陳晶瑩、江定蓮等，其中江定蓮還計劃將致力於推廣中文藏書書單，介紹中文作等。
