Olive商業協會(Olive Business Association, OBA)日前召開七月份月例會，會中決議將於7月30日(週六)上午11時起在Olive大道上之Jeffrey Plaza舉行第二屆Olive國際節慶祝活動，將有代表Olive大道上國際多元風采之各攤位參展。

會中同時通過組織會務幹部改選，原會務幹部全部留任並選出百利超市蔡沐錦 (Max Tsai)、John Buchannon 兩位新任董事。

7月份月例會係於7月12日下午六時，在Olive社區活動中心舉行，州議員Maria Chappelle Nadel，市議員 Shelley Welsch 與會，會中討論即將於7月30日在Olive大道Jeffrey Plaza舉行之Olive國際節活動，今年是Olive商業協會第二年舉辦國際節活動，將有多家Olive道上之商號設攤展示多元文化風采音樂及各國美食等，OBA歡迎市民闔府參加這項活動。

新近重新裝璜開幕之夏威夷BBQ店主Betty Tang及Bill Lott當晚出席了OBA之7月份月例會是為最新加入OBA之會員，受到大家的鼓掌歡迎。

市議員Shelley Welsch 在會中宣佈由大學城Green中心贊助之環保教育高爾夫球賽Water Quality訂8月28日在大學城Ruth公園高爾夫球場舉行。

大學城歷史協會會長Ralph Bowser提議邀請「聖路易的華人」作者令狐萍教授於明年大學城舉辦百年慶祝會時蒞會演講，Ralph Bowser表示，中國人在很多年前就移民到聖路易和大學城，大學城還曾有一座專屬中國人的墓園。

OBA8月份將無月例會，9月份月例會訂9月13日(週二)下午六時在Olive社區中心舉行，歡迎Olive大道各工商企業人士參加，另外，別忘了7月30日到Jeffrey Plaza參加Olive國際節慶祝活動。

Don't miss the Olive International Festival this year on Saturday, July 30. The Olive Business Association will wave a magic wand over Jeffrey Plaza at 11:00 A.M. The Plaza will change to a Fair, with colorful booths and savory food. Stop by for a chance to see a display of countries already located in the west end of the Olive Link area. Stay to eat, play and enjoy the music.

State Representative Maria Chappelle-Nadal has volunteered to send notices of the Fair to her e-mail list of supporters. Next year Monica McFee of the City Hall of U. City will work to combine the next and larger Olive International Fair with the U. City Centennial Celebration.

Officers and Board members of the OBA were elected for next year. Present officers were unanimously re-elected and Max Tsai and John Buchannon were added to the Board.

Betty Tang and Bill Lott from the newly completely redone Hawaiian Barbecue restaurant on Olive were new members at the meeting.

Co-Chairman Bart Beyers reminded members to update names and addresses for the website and directory. He told members about the upcoming Light the Night Walk for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society fundraiser.

Shelley Welsch, City Council member, sent information about the Water Quality Golf Tournament coming up in U. City's Ruth Park on August 28. It will be sponsored by The Green Center, environmental education source in U. City.

Ralph Bowser, president of the U. City Historical Society, proposed that the Society join with the OBA for a special project. His group would like to bring the author of the new book about the history of the Chinese community in St. Louis to University City. The program would be presented next year during the Centennial Celebration. He said Chinese people have been living in St. Louis and in U. City for many, many years. There were burials in a Chinese cemetery here at one time.

No meeting will be held in August, so come to the next meeting at 6:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 13 at the Community Center to see what else is going on. Till then,
