AsAms have taken bad knocks, in some instances, from the political world, their employers and our government. YOU have enabled 80-20 to PROACTIVELY do something about such instances.

Thanks to you, 80-20 has begun to use YOUR GROUP political clout to protect AsAms from being treated unfairly.

First, some of our political candidates suffered racist attacks from their political opponents. Examples are such attacks in 2002 on Alice Lai-Bitker running for County Council in Alameda County, CA and against Christopher Gabaldon running for State Assemblyman in the 18th District.

Second, AsAm scientists and engineers often faced groundless employer/government scrutiny resulting in trumped-up charges against them, as spies of national or industrial secrets, which didn't stand up in courts. Examples are the cases against Drs. Wen Ho Lee and Bin Han.

TO PROTECT YOU & AsAm political candidates, 80-20 announced a PROACTIVE policy on 4/30/02. 80-20 told the political world that 80-20 would drive politicians and their consultants who mount racist attacks against AsAm candidates out of politics, whatever it would take!

Result? Later that year, there was one similar racist attack on an Indian American political candidate in Iowa. The offending politician was immediately censured by her own political party & lost the election. In 2003, there was NOT a single such attack. In 2004, a big election year, STILL NONE !!! In other words, YOU scored a 100%

TO PROTECT YOU & AsAm scientists and engineers from facing trumped-up charges, 80-20 issued a similar PROACTIVE policy. 80-20 will enter as a ?friend of the court? to help the wronged scientists and engineers sue for compensative and punitive damages against their employees or the government.

Make the 80-20 resolutions known to your potential adversaries in a SUBTLE & nice manner. That way, they'll know that you are NOT a helpless individual but that YOU have an effective
national political organization prepared to fight for YOU.
