With the generous support of Anheuser-Busch, Inc., the International Leadership Foundation will award two Anheuser-Busch Dr. John B. Tsu Memorial Fellowships to deserving Asian Pacific American scholars. These Fellowships honor the late! Dr. Tsu's dedication and service to the Asian American community. Each Anheuser-Busch Dr. Tsu Fellow will receive a $5,000 stipend for a three-month, supervised, public service internship and research program. Graduate students and graduating college seniors are eligible to apply for Anheuser-Busch Dr. Tsu Fellowships. "The Anheuser-Busch Dr. John Tsu Memorial Scholarship is very appropriate," said ILF Chairman Dr. Paul Hsu. "It will help the next generation of young leaders and that's what Dr. Tsu always emphasized in his life. He believed in helping young people succeed. There really is no better way to honor his life."
About Dr. John B. Tsu
Born in China, and educated in Japan and the United States, Dr. Tsu pioneered the teaching of Chinese and Japanese languages in secondary and elementary school! s across America. He was a professor at Duquesne, Seton Hall, the University of San Francisco, and John F. Kennedy University. Throughout his life he worked to promote Asian Americans in government and public service, regardless of their political affiliation.
An advisor to Presidents Nixon, Ford, Reagan and both Bushes, Dr. Tsu was Chairman of President George W. Bush's Advisory Commission on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. He was President of the Asian American Political Education Foundation and served on the Presidential Commission on Education. Dr. Tsu is survived by his wife, Susan Tsu, an accomplished artist who also holds a Ph.D. from New York University.

The International Leadership Foundation is a non-profit organization that ! promotes the civic awareness, involvement, and effectiveness, of Asian Pacific Americans. For each of the last seven years the ILF has selected up to 30 Asian Pacific American undergraduate college students who will be future arts, business, community, legal, medical or professional leaders. The students received ILF scholarships, and internships in federal agencies in Washington, DC to help them better understand the workings of American government.
