Dear Ms. Yan:
On behalf of the Missouri Botanical Garden and the Friends of the Chinese Garden we would like to thank you for your outstanding musical performance at the Chinese Garden last Sunday, October 29, 2006. Everyone said that your performance created a musical environment which brought the Chinese Garden alive for both tour members and fellow performers. Even the well known author Mr. Qui Xiao Long invited you to accompany his reading of Chinese poetry. Everyone felt transported to another time and pleased by your virtuoso musical performance.
Not only were new friends made for the Chinese Garden, but old friends, especially senor Chinese Americans and other cultural representatives as well as the leading Chinese American newspaper all expressed such pride in your willingness not just to continue appreciation for traditional music and artistry, but also to have kept up your musical mastery since you began at age 4.
You are a true representative of Chinese traditional and cultural artistry and values, an inspiration for us all. We hope and pray you will consent to bring back your musical magic when by popular demand we repeat this Chinese Garden Appreciation Tour next Spring and Summer 2007. Although you volunteered to participate without recompense you have helped to raise money for the Chinese Friendship Garden for needed repairs and upkeep. You are a true friend to the Chinese Garden and Chinese-American cultural appreciation. We cannot thank you enough.
Very truly yours,
J. Justin MeehanMo. Botanical Garden InstructorPresident, Friends of Chinese Garden Association |
