Jimmy D. Lee, Managing Director, US Asian Business Council

        We are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Jimmy D. Lee as the new Managing Director for the US Asian Business council, a public policy organization committed to advocating for the advancement of Asian Pacific American entrepreneurs and businesses in the United States and abroad.

        Mr. Lee was previously appointed by President George W. Bush on January, 2006 to serve as the Executive Director of the White House Initiative for Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. The Office of the White House Initiative was established under Executive Order 13339 to increase economic opportunities and improve the quality of life of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders through greater participation in federal programs where they may be underserved.

        Prior to that appointment, Mr. Lee was a Commissioner on the President's Advisory Commission on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders and serve as Executive Director of the Chicago Chinatown Chamber of Commerce and a Board Member for the Asian American Alliance, a small business development center dedicated to improving and expanding business opportunities in the Asian American and Pacific Islander community in the State of Illinois. Mr. Lee previously served as the Assistant to the Governor for Asian American Affairs (Illinois).

        Mr. Lee is a strong advocate of community service and works with the Asian American youth. He serves on a number of boards and commissions around the country including Asset Builders, National Center for Community Development, and serves as chairman of the Asian American Advisory Council for Nielsen Media Research. He is an active youth group leader for his church in Chicago where he works and meets weekly as a mentor and youth counselor for students.
