The Foreign Language Connection at the University of Missouri-St. Louis offers a variety of language courses for casual travelers and professionals, including a Basic Spanish for Social Services Professionals course, taught by a social service worker who is fluent in Spanish. The course will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesdays, Sept. 18-Nov. 13, excluding Oct. 9, at the J.C. Penney Conference Center, UM-St. Louis, One University Blvd.
This course offers real-world language skills and practical conversational Spanish that can be used when speaking with Spanish-speaking patients and clients. Vocabulary and grammar will be presented in a social service context, beginning with the building of the patient-practitioner relationship.
