UMSL Monday Noon Series Presents Rep. Chappelle-Nadal on Accountability

        The Monday Noon Series offered through the University of Missouri-St. Louis Center for the Humanities is a free lunchtime program that showcases presenters with a wide range of ethnic, racial, and cultural backgrounds on a wide array of subjects. The series meets 12:15-1:15 p.m. on Mondays in 222 J.C. Penney Conference Center on the UMS campus, One University Blvd., and light refreshments are served.

        On Sept. 14, Rachel Hadas, Board of Governors Professor of English at Rutgers University in Newark, reads from her translations of Greek literature and discusses her current project, an anthology of Greek poetry in translation from Homer to the present.

        On Sept. 22, Rep. Maria Chappell-Nadal, Missouri District 72, discusses why governmental accountability needs to be a partnership and stresses that listening to each voice is crucial.

        On Sept. 29, the Capering Roisters present a program exploring this ritual performance dance and related traditions involving sticks, songs, hankies, swords, hobby horses, and sunrise at May Day.
