First SLSO Gala since 1999
(St. Louis) November 18, 2008 - Today the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra announced its upcoming Gala event, "A Noteworthy Affair," featuring one of the greatest musicians of our time, Yo-Yo Ma, scheduled for Saturday, October 24, 2009.
"A Noteworthy Affair" will include a performance by cellist Yo-Yo Ma, with David Robertson and the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra, at Powell Hall beginning at 7pm. Following the concert, the gala attendees will move to the Coronado Ballroom, 3701 Lindell Blvd., in Grand Center. Tickets will be available for the full Gala event (concert and post-concert dinner), as well as for the concert only.
Noemi Neidorff will serve as Chairman of "A Noteworthy Affair," with Peggy Ritter and Marsha Rusnack serving as Co-chairs.
This is the first SLSO Gala to be held since October 2, 1999, when the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra presented "A Salute to the 21st Century." It is also part of the SLSO's newly launched Building Our Business initiative.
