席間，雙方就東亞局勢、美國政治新局等議題廣泛交換意見，與會學者並對台灣當前政治發展及民主化進程表達高度興趣，對民主政治在台快速紮根咸感讚賞，另對兩岸關係朝和平之大方向發展亦表肯定。
Director General Dale Jieh Meets with the Faculty of the Department of Political Science UMKCDirector General Dale Jieh hosted a breakfast meeting on December 9 with the faculty of the Department of Political Science in University of Missouri, Kansas City. Participants included Dr. Robert Gamer, Dr. Mona Lyne, Dr. Ross Stephens, Dr. Dale Neuman, and Dr. Max Skidmore whose specialties are in the fields of international relations, foreign policy and comparative politics.During the meeting, Director General Jieh briefed the faculty with latest development of Taiwan's politics and the cross-straight relations. The political faculty praised the Taiwan's democratic achievements and the recent peaceful talks conducted with Mainland China. They also exchanged views regarding the upcoming administration of President Barack Obama and American politics.
