The new hotel planned for downtown Clayton will be a Westin, the hotel's developers said Wednesday.
The 15-story, 245-room Westin Clayton will be the second Westin in the St. Louis area and the third in the state, said Brad Minor of Westin's owners, Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide Inc.
Westin is one of Starwood's upscale brands. The other Westin here is downtown near Busch Stadium, and the third is in Kansas City.
Robert Kramer, a managing partner of the hotel's developer, RJ York of Clayton, said it intended to begin construction early next year at the southwest corner of Maryland and Central avenues and open the hotel in 2012. |
