【時報訊】根據最新一期美國新聞世界報導全美國科系排名榜公佈，位於聖路易的華盛頓大學生物醫學工程系排名全美第10名，與位在加州的史坦福大學生醫工程系同列第十名，這是華盛頓大學工學院各系中首次進入全美國排名十名之內的科系，消息傳來，受到學術界及全校師生的重視。
華大生物醫學工程系係於1997年由殷起彭博士創建，目前師資有16位，320位本科生，100位研究生，一棟新建大樓正在建築中，研究經費比例在全美過各系名列前茅。華大生醫工程系主任殷起彭將該系排名全美第十之優異成績歸功於全系所有師生之努力。
Department of Biomedical Engineering in Washington University was ranked number 10th (tied with Stanford University's program)
In the most recent U.S. News and World Report rankings of graduate school specialties, the Department of Biomedical Engineering in Washington University's school of engineering was ranked number 10th ( tied with Stanford University's program). This is the first time that any engineering school program at Washington University has been ranked in the top ten. The department was founded in 1997 and has been led since that time by Frank C-P Yin. The department now has 16 faculty, 320 undergraduates and more than 100 graduate students. Its per capita research funding places it among the very top departments in the university and the country. Construction is underway for a new building to enable the department to expand beyond its current space in the Whitaker Hall for Biomedical Engineering.
