A new pilot project will give St. Louis, Baltimore and Detroit funds to start new arts programs in unexpected places - like drug rehab facilities, day care centers and low-income housing. The Michigan-based Kresge (KRES'-gee) Foundation is set to share details about the project Thursday in St. Louis. The group says in tough economic times it's excited to funnel $600,000 to the three cities over two years to fund new arts programs. Anyone from a teenager with a good idea to an established organization can apply for the arts money. |
