新數據中心位於聖路易Ferguson郊區，耗資5,000萬美元，占地35,000平方英尺，據稱比傳統的數據中心省三分之一的電，其頂部裝有550多個太陽能電池板，由此產生的電能可供一戶普通家庭用三天。
艾默生公司CEO兼總裁David Farr說，艾默生的核心經營戰略之一即為企業、數據中心和電信等提供節能增效方案，所以它建新數據中心時，自然也充分考慮了這些因素，成為節能省電的表率。
Emerson Opens $50 Million Global Data Center In St. Louis
Officials at St. Louis-based Emerson Electric say a new $50 million data center will be about one-third more energy efficient than traditional data centers. The 35,000-square-foot center opened Monday at a ceremony that included Gov. Jay Nixon and U.S. Rep. Roy Blunt, R-Mo. The electrical products maker's president and CEO, David Farr, says one of Emerson's core business strategies is to deliver energy-efficient solutions for businesses, data centers and telecommunications. So when the company developed its own new global data center, he says it put those practices to use.
