【時報訊】2010年人口普查巡迴展，一月四日早上七時十分在聖路易城區老法院大廳舉行。聖路易市市長Francis Slay，聖路易國會眾議員Lacy Clay, Russ Carnahan，國際機構總裁Anna Craosslin及亞美青年專業協會(YAPA)會長Peter Chang均在會場發表講話，鼓勵所有居民參加這個十年才有的一次機會，正確匯報人口數字。
市長Francis Slay指出，如果我們少報一個人，就會每年損失約一千三百元之建設和福利經費，足見人口普查之重要性。人口普查局地區主任Dennis Johnson則表示，這是我們十年一次的機會將人口數字完整統計。Johnson主任同時宣佈人口普查局將雇用大量臨時工作人員協助人口普查工作之進行。
2010年人口普查強調三個十，即每十年一次，人口普查表祗有十個問題，大約需十分鐘即可填妥表格寄回。

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) -- Mayor Francis Slay was joined by Congressmen William Lacy Clay and Russ Carnahan at the Old Courthouse Monday morning to help the U.S. Census kick off the 2010 headcount.
"We lose about thirteen-hundred dollars per person, per year for everyone not counted," Mayor Slay said when talking about the importance of getting an accurate reflection of the city's population.
As regional director for the census bureau's Kansas City office, Dennis Johnson is in charge of making sure every Missourian gets counted.
"We have one chance to get this right," Johnson commented during a press conference under the dome of the Old Courthouse. "One chance to get the 2010 census perfect."
Johnson says they're also looking to hire roughly 9,000 census workers in the coming months.
"The 2010 census is a huge undertaking that provides temporary employment opportunities for local residents interested in working on the census," he said.
He says census jobs offer good pay, flexible hours and paid training while providing the opportunity to perform an important public service.

The Census Road Tour kicked off January 4 at the Old Courthouse. Congressmans Clay and Carnahan spoke, as well as Mayor Slay, Anna Crosslin from the International Institute, Peter Chang from the Young Asian-American Professional Association, John Haigler from 100 Black Men of Metropolitan Saint Louis, and U.S. Census Bureau Regional Director Dennis Johnson.
