I was born on February 11, 1992 in Beijing, China. My parents found jobs in the US shortly after I was born, so my grandparents raised me until I was four, after which my grandfather accompanied me to St. Louis. I quickly learned English with the help of school teachers and within a few years, I was completely fluent. However, my parents made sure I wouldn't forget Chinese, so they send me back to China virtually every summer. I have also enrolled in and graduated from St. Louis Modern Chinese School a few years back. I have attended Rockwood schools for the majority of my childhood, starting from fourth grade at Woerther Elementary and proceeding to Selvidge Middle and Marquette High. I began volunteering near the beginning of my junior year in high school at Missouri Baptist Hospital, where I worked for 9 months. Since then, I've volunteered at various events such as the Motion for Kids (Project Angel Tree) party at the Edward Jones Dome and organizations such as the Ballwin Pointe. My abundant volunteering experience allowed me to become the Vice President of Service at Marquette's chapter of National Honor Society. I am also the Section Leader of the Low Reeds (Tenor Saxophones, Baritone Saxophones, Bass Clarinets) in Marquette's symphonic band and marching band, in which I play tenor saxophone. My other extracurricular activities include Beta Chi Pi (a student tutoring club for science) and academic team. I also have a little brother who is currently a second grader at Woerther Elementary.
