華大校長Mark Wrighton獲頒RCGA Right Arm獎

【時報訊】聖路易地區商業發展協會(RCGA)1月21日在Chase Park Plaza舉行第173屆年度會議及晚宴，RCGA會長Dick Fleming致詞時表示，聖路易隨時準備迎接國家經濟復甦，聖路易並將自己最佳定位，增加就業機會及參與新經濟活動。 Dick Fleming會長表示，即使在經濟最壞的時候，聖路易地區有50家公司有著未來一萬三千個工作機會及12億元之投資總額。華盛頓大學校長Mark Wrighton在年會中獲頒RCGA Right Arm獎，由John Bachmann頒發，聖路易5號電視臺KSDK新聞主播Mike Bush擔任晚宴司儀。在RCGA年會晚宴開始前，大約有50名抗議人士在會場門口聚集抗議，他們是最近失業或找不到工作人士，為首的代表Jonathan McFarland表示，目前他是處於失業狀態，僅在夜間到Home Deport打零工，他要求本地區的工商業界要增加工作機會，要將雇員放在利潤之上。RCGA會長Dick Fleming答應和他進行會談溝通。 RCGA當晚約有950位會員參與盛宴，RCGA在聖路易地區有近4千位會員。 RCGA 173rd Annual Meeting And Dinner Protesters disrupted the start of the 173rd annual Regional Chamber and Growth Association dinner Thursday night at the Chase Park Plaza. In his speech to about 950 people at the meeting and dinner, RCGA President Dick Fleming told the group St. Louis is positioned, as the national economy begins to come back to life, to step up to our share of job creation and new economic activity. He says even in this down economy, St. Louis has 50 companies that represent 13 thousand prospective jobs and $1.2 billion in capital investment.
