Dr. Nasim Shekhani presented his very delighted speech to the audience. Greetings of Peace. If you look at the relevant statistics, we the naturalized citizens of this great country can be proud of ourselves. We are amongst the most law abiding section of society, amongst the upper bracket of tax payers, and boast the highest number of professionals per capita. The business acumen of our people is acknowledged by all and the work ethic of our community is enviable. Undoubtedly, we Asian Americans are flourishing economically. Dr. Nasim Shekhani asked all the Asian American Community members to be part of the main stream political process.

Rekha Sharma, woman Co-Chair or MDPAAC St. Louis County Chapter spoke and gave her report to the audience. As Rekha believes and takes serious positive attitude, and active leadership toward the main streaming process of Asian-American Communities in the great state of Missouri. Our well being is a tribute to the generosity of the Americans who were here before us. They have welcomed us with open arms, and have given us the same rights which they themselves enjoy. They fought long and hard for these rights and privileges; from the winning of freedom from the British, to the Civil War, to Martin Luther King and his dream. They have sacrificed their lives, their properties, their sons and daughters to get where they are, and yet they think nothing of sharing their hard earned freedoms with us. This truly is the land of the generous and the home of the brave.

My question to you and myself is that what can we do for our adopted homeland to repay its favors to us? I have been thinking about this for a long time, and the obvious answer is that we should be doing what we already are: be law abiding, work hard etc. I know most of us are already doing that, and I am proud of this fact.

However, we do have another duty; we owe it to society that we weigh in on programs that are for the betterment of the people of the US, We want to ensure that we share the American Dream of leaving the country a much better place for the next generation. We cannot simply be law abiding and hard working citizens, we also have to be involved citizens, we have to support our fellow citizens in the democratic process, and we can do that only if we get involved in the political process. This is important; the future of our great country and our next generation depends on it.

With these objectives in mind, a few like minded friends got together and approached the powers that be. I am happy to inform you that they were received very enthusiastically by the Missouri Democratic Party. They appreciated what they had to say and authorized them to form the Missouri Democratic Party Asian American Caucus (MDPAAC). The MDP has provided us the opportunity to be really involved in the decision making process, at all levels. We have the opportunity, but do we have the will? Let us show our fellow Americans that we do have the will. Let us support this fledgling organization, the MDPAAC, which has been formed so you can exercise your rights in the political process and build it up as fast as we can, things will not be different unless you get in there and change them. I urge you to join this effort. Rekha Sharma thanked all those attended the event and those community members who did not attended but helped MDPAAC to reach the up to dated status.

Rosy Khan MDPAAC state Organizer invites all the Asian-Americans to joining with Missouri Democratic Party Asian American Caucus and make a positive base line for the Asian-American 2nd generations.

Anwar invites all the Asian-American Community members and all the Democrats to be serious about the 2010 Mid-term election. Anwar believes the Asian American Community has a lot of potentials to offer to the show me states as a political involvement. Anwar asked all to be part of the “Robin Carnahan's Senate Race? Though Robin is about 7% behind still we can make a difference. So we have to prove that we will bring that 8% for Robin that Anwar Khan believes.
