Yu Hao's Graduation Exhibition - Year of Tiger (Intercultural Design)

        Yu Hao

Graphic Art always brings me passion and energy. One of the main reasons I enjoy creating art is to share with others the feelings I experience. Nothing is better than the excitement I get from a subject that intrigues me. I enjoy expressing myself through the subject matter. I want to express how it is seen through my eyes and how it makes me feel, and then share these with others. There are many problems in my works and I believe I benefit a lot from the process of solving them.

As a Graphic Designer, the environment always influences me.

According to the 12 animal signs cycle, I was born in the year of Tiger. Also, following the rule of the Chinese Zodiac cycle, 2010 is the year of Tiger. Therefore, the "Tiger" is the theme of my exhibition.

The content of my Exhibition demonstrates what I have experienced as an art student. My exhibition illustrates how I grew as an art student. As an art student, the biggest process I have made is that I learned how to see different subject matters from the same object. For instance, the subject matter "tiger" is the intercultural connection that makes me focus on the object.

The decisions I make during the course of my work always refer back to basic principles in art: Point, Line, Shape, and Color. Of course, I can never ignore my instincts since they usually steer me to the more interesting direction. One thing that helps me during the course of my work is to learn from other artists so that I can refresh my idea everyday. Working like this makes me have diverse styles. Everyday is a new learning process. The more I know, the more I don't know.
