Paul Pai Resigns as President at STLCC-Meramec
Paul Pai, Ed.D, has resigned his position as president of St. Louis Community College-Meramec, effective June 30.
"I accepted Dr. Pai's resignation March 31. I want to thank him for his service to St. Louis Community College, in particular the Meramec campus, and wish him well in his future endeavors," said Zelema Harris, STLCC chancellor.
In a letter to colleagues at the Meramec campus, Pai said: "Even though I love our students, faculty and staff, my destination is somewhere else. I will help the campus through the end of this (fiscal) year and know that we have great team members who will sustain the continued growth and development of the campus."
Pai was appointed Meramec president in June 2007. Prior to his arrival at Meramec, Pai served for four years as superintendent/president of Imperial Valley (Calif.) College. He also has held administrative positions at Georgia Perimeter College (Decatur, Ga.), San Diego Mesa College, in the Houston Community College System, at Louisiana State University-Eunice, Denmark (S.C.) Technical College, and at Johnson County Community College (Overland Park, Kan.).
Chancellor Harris will name an interim president in the coming weeks, but has not yet determined how the search for Pai's replacement will be conducted.
Established in 1962, St. Louis Community College is the largest community college district in Missouri and one of the largest in the United States. STLCC has four campuses - Florissant Valley, Forest Park, Meramec and Wildwood - and annually serves more than 100,000 students through credit courses, continuing education and workforce development programs.
