Missouri Secretary of State Robin Carnahan Speaks to RCGA

On June 4th Missouri Secretary of State Robin Carnahan, Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate, spoke to a large crowd of regional business and policy leaders at the RCGA as part of our 2010 Public Policy Speaker Series.

Secretary Carnahan explained how her experience as Missouri's Secretary of State and working on her family's farm would help her become an effective U.S. Senator. She also outlined plans for eliminating earmarks, cracking down on over-payments, ending no-bid contracts, and instituting spending caps, which she said could save $700 billion over the next ten years. Secretary Carnahan also responded to a wide variety of questions from the audience, including her positions on the effectiveness of the federal stimulus plan and the cap-and-trade issue.
