【時報訊】聖路易大學城密州州議員Maria Chappelle-Nadel父親節當天(6月20日)參加聖路易“父親支持中心”(Father's Support Center)第14屆健行活動及第12屆BBQ野餐活動，以表達父親節之慶賀。
聖路易“父親支持中心”成立於1997年12月10日，是一個非營利組織，宗旨在於協助和輔導父親和子女成長、職業訓練、有效溝通等。自成立以來，父親中心服務過3,297位父親和7,175位孩子進駐職場和社區，創建美好家庭。
密州州議員Maria表示，訓練指導這些年輕的父親，給予職業訓練和社會經驗,會使得我們的社區更加美好，使我們密蘇里州更強大，我們需要更多類似的組織來協助社區裡家庭的成長。Maria表示將持續支持父親中心，和父親中心一起為社區努力。
連任三屆的州議員Maria今年出馬競選第14區密州參議員，選區範圍擴大，大學城華埠依然是Maria的票倉和大本營，密州參議員黨內初選將於8月3日舉行。
Representative Maria Chappelle-Nadal Spends Fathers Day Weekend Celebrating with Fathers Support Center
UNIVERSITY CITY, MO (June 21, 2010) - Representative Maria Chappelle-Nadal spent Father's Day weekend celebrating the work of Fathers' Support Center at their 14th Annual walk and Rally and their 12th Annual Banquet, "A Toast for Fathers'."
"Fathers' Support Center St. Louis (FSC) was incorporated as a federal 501(c)3 organization on December 10, 1997. Since its inception, FSC has served more than 3,297 fathers and their families (including 7,175 children), transitioning the nonparticipating father to a position of involvement and investment in the life of his child (over 2,300 of those served have child support orders and 65% or 1,495 were either ex-offenders or had long histories of incarceration)."
When asked about Fathers' Support Center, Representative Chappelle-Nadal expressed her gratitude to the organization and stated, "Teaching these young men communication, employment readiness, and parenting skills will build stronger communities and a stronger Missouri. Our state needs more organizations that teach fathers' skills that will build stronger families. Without these organizations our communities can not move forward, but instead, there is hope. I was thankful to be a part of the FSC Father's Day celebration and look forward to working with them to better the fabric of each families lives in our communities and throughout Missouri.
