In commemoration of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, On January 15th,OCA-STL (Organization of Chinese American, St. Louis chapter) organized a Clothing Drive to give back to the community at large. It was a successful event despite a freezing morning. 13 OCA-STL board members and volunteers came together and donated more than 30 bags of clothes to the Goodwill Store located on Olive Street and 141. Some of the clothes are brand new and most are professional attire, which is in critical need due to the high number of unemployed workers in transition. The store manager is very pleased to receive the donations and showed appreciation to OCA-STL for helping the local community. |
