【時報訊】Dee Luo目前就讀Clayton高中三年級,正在積極申請理想的大學,她在致詞時表示,很開心能夠從美華協會中獲得最高榮譽的青少年領導才能獎,她感謝美華協會所有成員,感謝長期給予她支持的父母親,她提到,她平時很喜歡擔任志工,也曾經參與一個機構,專門為中國四川大地震籌款,此外,她長期致力於幫助在西非貧困的家庭與協助現代中文學校舉辦活動,由於她愛好從事志工服務,成為2010年總統志工獎得獎人。空閒時間Dee Luo喜歡跳街舞、芭蕾舞、閱讀19世紀古典文學、畫畫以及在賣橄欖油的精品店打工。
Dee Luo 積極進取的態度,使她獲得許多榮譽項,其中包括 the National Champion in the TEAMS(Technology, Engineering, Aptitude, Math and Science) competition and placed third in the Exhibit category at National History Day (a respected history competition). She placed second in MSHSAA’s State Reader’s Theater competition, is a recipient of the Missouri Governor’s Humanities Award, and received the “Show Me”Award and “Superior Art”Award at Missouri’s State Journalism Convention. She enjoys being a Graphics and Page Editor for the award winning Globe Newspaper (deemed the Best in Show Newspaper at the National Journalism Convention in Kansas City this past year), a Board member of the Clayton High speech and Debate Team, and one of the few hurdlers on the Clayton Field and Track team. During summers, Dee has assisted Dr. Terri rebmannt, a professor at Washington University, on H!N! Influenza research, and enjoys partaking in Washington University’s Science Outreach program: the Shaw Institute for Field Training (SIFT).
