Moving China Hub Forward!
St. Louis Chinese community submitted candidates to MCHC

        A meeting of Chinese/Asian American organization leaders was held at 6pm at law firm Armstrong Teasdale's offices in Clayton on March 7, 2011.

        The discussion was a continuation from the Wednesday, March 2, 2011 meeting with St. Louis County Executive Charlie Dooley on appointing an Asian American to the Midwest China Hub Commission (MCHC) and obtaining greater Asian American participation in St. Louis government and community affairs.

        Leaders of OCA, MAABA, St. Louis Chinese American Association, YAPA, the St, Louis Modern Chinese School, the Chinese Culture and Education Service, and others were in attendance and formed an ad hoc Advisory Committee.

        Candidates interested in serving as the representative to the MCHC were discussed and interviewed. Round table discussions took place and the Advisory Committee asked the candidates what experience and skills they can bring to this opportunity.

        The candidates selected for submission to Mr. Dooley are:

        Clarence Chang, Retired, formerly of Monsanto Johnny Wang, Attorney, Hinshaw Culbertson Dr. Harold Law, St. Louis County Commissioner (stand-in representative)

        These candidates were submitted on Monday, March 14, 2011 to the County Executive with one expected to be chosen to be a participating member of the MCHC.
