        (ST. LOUIS): The Missouri Botanical Garden welcomes you to celebrate Earth Day this spring with "green" activities all day long! Enjoy entertainment, activities and information on how you can positively affect planet Earth on Saturday, Apr. 23 at the Missouri Botanical Garden in south St. Louis and the Sophia M. Sachs Butterfly House in Chesterfield.

        Stop by the upper level of the Ridgway Visitor Center at the Missouri Botanical Garden from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to visit with exhibitors from Earth Share of Missouri organizations, on hand to share information on keeping the planet healthy. Participants include Endangered Wolf Center, Great Rivers Environmental Law Center, Greenway Network, Missouri Coalition for the Environment, Missouri Parks Association, Monte Verde Conservation League, St. Louis Audubon Society, Sierra Club, Center for Plant Conservation and the EarthWays Center.

        Outside on Spoehrer Plaza, enjoy toe-tapping bluegrass tunes performed live by The Barn Burners from 1 to 3 p.m. Activities are included with Missouri Botanical Garden admission of $8 for adults; St. Louis City/County residents enjoy free admission on Saturday before noon and are $4 thereafter. Children ages 12 and under and Garden members are free. The Missouri Botanical Garden is located at 4344 Shaw Blvd. in south St. Louis, accessible from Interstate 44 at the Vandeventer exit and from Interstate 64 at the Kingshighway North & South exit. Free parking is available on-site and two blocks west at the corner of Shaw and Vandeventer.

Sachs Butterfly House in Chesterfield is "Buggin' Out for Earth Day" with kid-friendly activities and crafts. Make a sustainable bird feeder from a pine cone, create your own dirt ball butterfly garden, construct a wind sock out of a plastic container, learn about one of nature's original recyclers - the dung beetle and find out how to use other recycled materials for creative projects of your own. Drop in to join the family fun on Saturday, Apr. 23 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

        Activities are included with Butterfly House admission of $6 for adults and $4 for children ages 3 to 12. Garden members and children 2 and under are free.
