Vision Airlines is adding nonstop flights between Lambert-St. Louis International Airport and Destin/Fort Walton Beach, Fla., beginning June 1.
Vision was the second airline to make an announcement Tuesday about new service at Lambert. Pet Airways, a Delray Beach, Fla.-based carrier that specializes in transporting pets in the main cabin rather than as cargo, said it plans to add St. Louis to its destinations this summer.
Vision also said Tuesday that it's adding nonstop flights between Destin/Fort Walton and Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Lafayette, La.; Las Vegas; and Tunica, Miss.; adding new service to Las Vegas from Destin/Fort Walton and Baton Rouge; and increasing service between Atlanta and Destin/Fort Walton to daily flights.
Vision Airlines is offering a limited-time fare on the new routes of $39 each way.
"The new routes to Destin/Fort Walton Beach are consistent with our planned growth to Florida," said Vision Airlines Chief Operating Officer David Meers, in a statement. "These markets are underserved by the major carriers and many of these markets have lost significant service over the years."
Atlanta-based Vision Airlines now serves 24 markets with nonstop, round-trip flights from NW Florida Regional Airport at Destin/Fort Walton Beach. The company's fleet includes the Boeing 767, Boeing 737 and Dornier 328 aircraft. Vision also has offices in Louisville, Ky.; Las Vegas; and Miami.
