"The 16th Annual JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes brought people together on Sunday, October 2nd in Forest Park in a healthy activity for a worthy cause, raising money to help find a cure for diabetes," said Jim Theiss, Board President JDRF Metro Saint Louis/Greater Missouri Chapter.
A total of 335 teams (corporate and family) numbered almost 25,000 Walkers on a magnificent Sunday morning. "We're still opening donation envelopes and supporting fundraising events all over town. It's never too late to contribute to our research efforts," continued Theiss.
Since its founding in 1970 by parents of children with type 1 diabetes, JDRF has awarded more than $1.5 billion to diabetes research, including more than $100 million in 22 countries in 2010.
