Olivette and U City partner to revamp I-170 corridor
A business-driven redevelopment plan for the Interstate 170 and Olive Boulevard interchange is gaining traction.
Olivette and University City are moving forward with their joint plans for the corridor, which serves as an entrance point to both communities. Both cities recently approved a resolution to form a joint Implementation Committee, slated to be in place by the end of the month, according to Olivette City Manager Mike McDowell.
The committee will accelerate redevelopment plans laid out in the I-170/Olive Boulevard Joint Redevelopment Task Force's final report, which was presented during an Oct. 17 joint session of the communities' city councils.
