Sen. Maria Chappelle-Nadal Honored with Education Award

        JEFFERSON CITY - Sen. Maria Chappelle-Nadal, D-University City, was recently acknowledged with the McCluer South-Berkeley High School's Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Award for her constant dedication and concern for the citizens of the 14th Senatorial District and for her work in the Legislature as it relates to education in Missouri.

        "I am extremely honored to receive this award and humbled to be among the other recipients whose work in education represent the award's namesake," said Sen. Chappelle-Nadal. "As we celebrate the life and legacy of a man who strived to gain equality for all, I remain committed to providing the students in our district and around the state with a top-notch education that will help them compete in the 21st century."

        Sen. Chappelle-Nadal received the honor at the MSB Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration on Friday, Jan. 13. Keynote speaker Mr. Chuck Alphin, Jr., Executive Director of Building Life Foundations, addressed event participants. In addition, citizens also saw performances by the MSB Music Department, MSB Orchestra, MSB Choir, and MSB March Bull Dog Band.
