Turning Business Dreams Into Reality
ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - If you have an idea for a new business, tonight's the night you might be able to start turning it into reality.
St. Louis' "Startup Weekend" begins Friday night. Partnership for Downtown St. Louis Senior Economic and Housing Development Director Kevin Farrell says it's a chance for those who want to start a business to take the next steps, "You come in with your business idea, everybody presents, then they vote on the eight best ideas for businesses. You divide into eight different teams and spend the rest of the weekend really creating that business.
"They put together a business plan, a marketing plan. They hear from a number of entrepreneurs as well. The get a little bit of mentoring."
Farrell says after spending the weekend refining their business plans, Sunday they vote on the best ones.
