        Armstrong Teasdale ranked as the top corporate law firm in St. Louis in the 2012 survey ranking America’s Best Corporate Law Firms for 25 metropolitan areas by Corporate Board Member magazine and FTI Consulting Inc. (NYSE: FCN).

        The other two highest-ranking law firms in St. Louis in the survey were Thompson Coburn and Bryan Cave.

        The study surveyed more than 1,900 general counsel and 11,300 directors serving on boards of publicly traded companies.

        On a national level, Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom of New York was ranked No. 1 by both corporate directors and general counsel surveyed by Corporate Board Member magazine and FTI Consulting.

        Led by Managing Partner Michael Chivell, St. Louis-based Armstrong Teasdale has more than 200 local attorneys. The firm, which is owned by its partners, has offices located in St. Louis, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Reno, Nev., and Shanghai. The firm posted revenue of $109.5 million in 2011. Earlier this month, it announced that it added five intellectual property attorneys to its St. Louis office.

        Thompson Coburn and Bryan Cave are tied as the St. Louis area's largest law firms, with 253 local licensed attorneys each, according to Business Journal research in February. Armstrong Teasdale was the St. Louis area's fourth-largest firm, according to that research.
