Hispanic Festival, Inc. of Greater St. Louis will present the Fiesta in Florissant on June 23 and 24, 2012 at the Knights of Columbus Park in Florissant near Lindbergh and Washington Street. This is an opportunity for you and the whole family to experience the various Hispanic Cultures and Traditions.
This colorful event will feature folkloric dance groups of children and adults from Mexico, Venezuela, Panama and Capoeira Brazilian Martial Arts performances. Live Latino bands will play throughout each day including Vasquez Mariachi, Menache Latin Rock Group, Son Montuno Salsa Band, Desesperados del Norte Mexican Band, KazaNova Mexican Band and Grupo Picante from Kansas City. Expect lessons in Salsa and Bachata.
There will be a wide variety of foods and beverages from Latin and South America such as tacos, empanadas, pan dulce and Bolivian shish ka bobs. Expect to quench your thirst with Jose Cuervo margaritas, Miller beer products and Horchata Mexican Drinks.
Other attractions include an array of folk arts and crafts from Ecuador and Guatemala. Featured items include sweaters, handbags, jewelry, ponchos, dresses, sandals, pottery and much more.
Los Ninos Children's Pavilion will have pinatas, bi-lingual puppet shows, visits from Dora, Diego and Superman, inflatable rides, games, face painting, pony rides and a petting zoo.
New to the Fiesta in Florissant is a Fashion Show for kids featuring their favorite Hispanic country outfit plus a Children's Talent Show.
Plus booths from several organizations will be present. Anticipate over 50 booths and expect door prizes, giveaways and more!
One of the fair's purposes is to celebrate the common heritage of the Hispanic nations. Portions of the funds raised are used for scholarships distributed to college-bound students as well as to underprivileged children and their families.
We invite the entire St. Louis community, both Hispanic and non-Hispanic, to come and celebrate with us. Admission is free to the Fiesta in Florissant and free parking is available on site.
