Lambert Airport passenger traffic spikes

St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - The 2012 summer travel season spiked at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport this past August.
The number of departing passengers at the airport is up by 4.7 percent over August 2011. The airport is also showing a 2.1 percent year-to-date increase over 2011 as well.
Approximately 584,000 passengers arrived at Lambert Airport in August 2012 versus 552,000 one year ago, a 5.7 percent increase. The year-to-date arrivals is 2.3 percent higher than 2011.
According to Jeff Lea, spokesman for Lambert-St. Louis International Airport, Southwest Airlines is the leading carrier for departures, accounting for 46.4 percent of the airport's business.
Eleven airlines operate out of Lambert Airport, running approximately 250 daily non-stop flights to 60 destinations in the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. |
