Gourmet Food is the cornerstone of holiday celebrations. If you are looking for a special place to impress or entertain your special ones, or for any other occasions such as craving for steaks or fresh fish, Annie Gunn's is the place for you. It is a heaven of good taste that is luxurious, extravagant and a restaurant with world class.
Everything about Annie Gunn's is top notch. The interior design is cozy, suitable for casual family dining, but it is also elegant and having an amazing atmosphere suitable for formal dining. The owner seems born with the hospitality chromosome and a real professional in the restaurant business, which makes you feel real good about the whole experience. Services are the best among the best. They are not only friendly but also very professionally trained and polished, who are thoroughly knowledgeable about the menu. If something is not available there at the moment, they'll make every effort to get it. If you have some trouble deciding on the wine, you will get services that will be above and beyond what you have asked.
I ordered a House Smoked Seafood Sampler for appetizer. It's a spectacular seafood sampler with gorgeous display. The Vermont Maple Glazed Jumbo Shrimp and Viking Village Sea Scallops were incredibly flavorful, bland and chewy, that could not have been more perfect. Troutdale Farm Missouri Trout and Irish Salmon with Traditional Garnishes were very delicious and tender. My most favorite one was the House Made Guinness Rye which was made from scratch and was simply amazing.
One of my absolute favorite features is Charcoal Grilled Kobe Strip Steak. It was to die for! Kobe Strips Steaks was immediately beautifully cut into thin strips and the inside of the steak crust was seared on the outside. I ordered rare+ in case it comes out overcooked. It was cooked perfectly. It has the slightest crunch on the outside and almost melts with every bite inside. When the fatty marble melts in the mouth like butter, OMG, juicy, moist, the rich robust beefy flavor was with each bite.
Any item on the menu is to die for. There is a huge variety of steaks including Fillet, Ribeye, Bone in Chop, Tenderloin, New York Strip and even a Calves Liver. My other order was Filet Mignon which came out hot and crispy on the outside, pink and juicy in the inside, so tender! It was divine. In addition, all the side items were cooked to perfection.
Last but not least, you got to save some room for the dessert. I got chocolate mousse which was creamy but light in texture. It was so delicious that I snapped my fingers and made it disappeared in no time. The very last course, the cappuccino was a spectacular one with a wonderful flare. It was a memorable and amazing dining experience. I have heard their fresh fish was astounding when served with French white wine, Sancerre. Next time, definably will try it. In all, Annie Gunn may not be a cheap dining option in West County, but for a splurge-worthy, special-occasion dinner, it is well worth the money in my opinion, and is definitely a treat in many regards. You'll get very enjoyable meal worth every penny. Make reservations - they're always booked.
In addition, Annie Gunn's won the 2012 Diners' Choice Award for the top 100 American Fare Restaurants in the U.S. which is generated from more than 5 million reviews collected from verified OpenTable diners. It says all.
