The image forms in your mind of the hometown breakfast, casual environment, mom-and-pop friendliness, and a place where people know your name - Hot Wok Cafe is the place. Delicious, fresh, and authentic Chinese Breakfast foods such as Green Onion Pancake, Sesame Seed Bun, Crullers, Soy Milk, Sticky Rice Roll, Seafood Dumplings, and 10 other items delight many customers every Saturday morning from 10:30 AM to 2:00 PM.
Hot Wok Cafe is a medium size restaurant. Its welcoming ambiance creates the homey atmosphere, yet elegant for business dining. I would consider Hot Wok Cafe a gem in the West County for authentic Northern Chinese style cuisines. Their Chinese Breakfast items are sensational and the experience of hometown affair is not-to-be-missed. I typically order Soy Milk, Sesame Seed Bun, and Crullers as starters, follow by Green Onion Pancake, top with Beef Noodle Soup, and finish with Fish Porridge. Of course, I am describing a breakfast order for two. They also offer popular items such as Pork Dumpling, Sesame Noodle, Five Spiced Beef, Spicy Beef Tendon, Jelly Fish Salad Chives Pie, and Sticky Rice Roll. Did I mention all these items are freshly prepared in their kitchen; nothing is purchased from the factory?
I can say nothing but great things about the Beef Noodle Soup. The beef is tender, the soup is delicious, and the green Chinese cabbage is fresh. Just looking at it is enough to cause you drool before eating it. Five Spiced Beef is a hearty entree to be shared by 3 or 4 people. The high grade beef is slowly roasted with five spices. The aroma of the beef and succulent flavor mesmerize my mind to want to eat more. The owners are from the Shandong province. Their dumplings are second to none for their tug of dough, the burst of juice, the first hit of stuffing, and its intense flavor.
I like everything on their menu. But the wonder of Chinese Breakfast is the assorted combinations that offer the same satisfying dining experience. After a weeklong stressful and tiring work, having Saturday brunch at Hot Wok Cafe with family members and friends does rejuvenate your soul and give a touch of hometown memory. The added benefit is to expose our American born children to the art and culture of Chinese Breakfast. Hot Wok Cafe is the place to be on Saturday morning from 10:30 AM to 2:00 PM.
