Organizing For Action Holds Ballwin, Wentzville Rallies

The Missouri branch of Organizing For Action, a nonprofit policy organization working to enact President Obama's agenda, held two rallies at the offices of U.S. Reps. Blaine Luetkemeyer and Ann Wagner on August 5, 2013 in support of immigration reform.
The rallies are part of OFA's "Action August" initiative, which is focused on raising attention around controversial issues while members are back in their district for recess.
James Page, leader of the St. Louis Chapter of Organizing For Action, is excited to help move the legislative agenda forward and boost the middle class.
"It will help increase jobs in the United States and it will provide a righteous path to citizenship, especially for those people in the category of
'dreamers,' who were brought to the United States through no fault of their own by immigrant parents," Page says. "It will allow certain categories of immigrants a pathway to citizenship and a pathway to officially joining the U.S. tax rules, which will help to grow the economy and will help to reduce the US deficit."
The rallies were held at the members' offices in Wentzville, Mo. and Ballwin, Mo. OFA will continue holding events this month focused on climate change and gun laws. |
