Toyota Bodine invests millions in Troy plant

Toyota Bodine is spending $3 million to expand its manufacturing plant in Troy, and officials expect to add 35 jobs to the plant, Gov. Jay Nixon announced Thursday morning.
"Just a few years ago, many observers thought Missouri's auto industry was down for the count," Nixon said in a statement. "Today, it's revving up - creating jobs and spurring growth here in Troy and across our state."
In June, Toyota officials announced that Bodine Aluminum, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Toyota Motor Corp. and a manufacturer of casting parts, would invest $50 million and create 40 new jobs at the plant.
Bodine Aluminum was founded in St. Louis in 1912. The Troy facility opened in 1990 and employs 465 workers.
