WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill this week met with Dr. Fred Pestello, President of St. Louis University, to discuss his vision for SLU and potential areas for collaboration.
"Missouri is home to some of the finest Universities in the world and SLU is no exception," said McCaskill, a University of Missouri alumna. "It was great to meet Dr. Pestello, hear his vision for SLU, and discuss how we can partner together to further strengthen the institution's role as an intellectual and economic engine in St. Louis." Dr. Pestello, who holds a Ph.D. in sociology, began his tenure as St. Louis University's 33rd President on July 1, 2014. Founded in 1818, St. Louis University is one of the nation's oldest and largest Catholic universities.
McCaskill is Missouri's senior Senator.
