(ST. LOUIS): The Missouri Botanical Garden has named Bob Woodruff chief operating officer. Woodruff has experience in both the corporate and nonprofit sectors in areas including finance, information technology, marketing, capital project management, communications and human resources.
"I am delighted that we have been able to recruit such an outstanding candidate to fill this important senior position at the Garden," said Peter Wyse Jackson, president of the Missouri Botanical Garden. "Bob Woodruff's extensive management and administrative experience in St Louis and beyond will be an enormous asset going forward."
Woodruff most recently served as director of Huron Consulting Group in St. Louis, where he provided business consulting to higher education clients. He served as vice president and chief financial officer at Saint Louis University from 2003 to 2011. While there, he managed the school's $900 million endowment and led financing for the two largest capital projects in the University's history - the $83 million Doisy Research Center and $81 million Chaifetz Arena.
"Bob brings a wide array of skills and depth of experience to the Garden," said Board of Trustees Chair Lelia Farr. "I look forward to working with him as he begins his new role at the Garden."
Earlier in his career, Bob worked for Deutsche Financial Services in a variety of roles. Bob holds a master's degree in business administration from Washington University in St. Louis and a bachelor's degree, also in business administration, from Bryant University in Smithfield, R.I.
"I'm honored to join a world-class institution whose mission I support," said Woodruff. "I look forward to working with the Garden's staff to further advance that mission and to ensure the Garden remains a world-renowned research center and destination."
