It's Official!  Olive Businesses Form Association

More than 30 businesses along and connected to Olive Boulevard in University City met Tuesday, October 16th, officially forming the Olive Business Association.  

Byron Smyrniotis, owner of Mound City Shelled Nuts was elected chairperson and Lynn Rossel of Rosco Electrics was elected co-Chairperson.  Najah Haqiqah, video and PR consultant; and Linda Brooks of More Than An Eyeful were elected corresponding and recording secretaries respectively.  Ralph Broeker of Royal Bank was elected treasurer.

Harriet Woods delivered an inspiring talk on "Stepping Up To Power."  

OBA plans to have meetings that focus on best practices for growth such as a group health plan for business along the Olive Boulevard business corridor. 

The regular meetings of the Olive Business Association will be held on the second Tuesday of each month.  The next regular meeting will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2001 at 6:00 PM at Heman Community Center located at 975 Pennsylvania Avenue at Vernon.  
 
¡§We have the opportunity to make our ¡§stretch¡¨ of Olive Blvd in University City as attractive at any shopping area in St. Louis County,¡¨ Smyrniotis said.
