"My parents just don't understand me!"

Have you ever heard yourself saying this phrase as a result of a disagreement
with one of your parents? Or, as a parent do you have difficulty communicating
with your children? You may be one of the hundreds of
others who may experience the same issues as a result of language barrier, cultural differences, and differences in life choices.
I am Michi Fu, a Chinese American psychology graduate student. I want to help
children and parents of Chinese immigrant households get along with one another better. I am conducting a research study for my doctoral
dissertation and am looking for American Born Chinese (ABC) to participate in my study. I want to see if parents and kids have difficulty getting along the more
Americanized kids are and the more traditional parents are. I am looking for:
- ABC's over the age of 18
- whose parents immigrated over here from Asia
- English speaking
- willing to volunteer 15-30 minutes of your time to fill out surveys.
