arms deal (n.) 軍事採購

Washington has approved the arms deal, worth over two billions dollars.
華府已經批准了這項超過二十億美元的武器採購。

有另外一個名稱與「arms deal」意思差不多，也常用，就是「weapons sale」。

South Korea's navy today announced a new arms deal, saying Seoul will buy three U.S. Lockheed Martin's Aegis anti-air combat systems in a deal estimated to be worth $1.2 billion. South Korea plans to install the Aegis systems on three 7,000-ton class destroyers to be built by Hyundai Heavy Industries, with the first ship is due to be commissioned in 2008.
The navy said it made its decision after testing from last November thru this May both the U.S.-based Lockheed Martin's Aegis system and the Active Phased Array Multifunction Radar, or APAR, system made by Thales Dederland of the Netherlands.

南韓軍方今天宣佈一項新的軍事採購，漢城當局已決定以十億二千萬美元向美國洛克希德馬丁公司購置三套神盾戰鬥系統。 而新購的三套神盾戰鬥系統將裝配於由南韓現代重工業公司承造的三艘七千噸級韓國型驅逐艦，其中第一艘將於二○○八年交艦。
南韓海軍總部今天指出在去年十月針對相關廠商的提案書進行綜合評估後，選擇了洛克希德馬丁公司的神盾系統與荷蘭泰利斯（Thales）公司的APAR系統，並於去年十一月至今年五月續行試驗評量與談判磋商，最終認定神盾系統的性能較APAR系統優越。
