SBA Loan Approvals

(Scanews - St. Louis) 219 jobs have been created or retained in St. Louis City and County as a result of 16 U.S. Small Business Administration guaranteed loans totaling $2,184,600 during the month of October 2002 according to Bob Andrews, district director of the St. Louis District SBA office. 

	The loans were made to The Mart, Garvin-Wienke Inc., The Melting Pot, Weng International Inc., OC Schueddig Machine Inc., JWL Construction LLC, Our Blessings, Mail Boxes Etc., South City Diner, Alpine Shop LTD, Atlas Restaurant and Lunchroom, Hartke Nursery, Lighting Expressions LLC, Pulsar Development, E-Z Flow Gutter System LLC, and Sewing Specialties Inc.

	Thanks to Bank of America, Bank of Belton, Commerce Bank-Texas, Commerce Bank NA, Meramec Valley Bank, Missouri State Bank and Trust Company, St. Johns Bank and Trust Company, U.S. Bank, Union Planters Bank, and Wells Fargo Bank for their active participation in SBA loan programs.  SBA guaranteed loans are made by local banks and other private lenders to businesses in the community.  These loans benefit local communities by aiding local firms to expand, creating new jobs and assisting in economic development.  

	In 1953, SBA was created by Congress to assist the nation's small businesses in meeting their financing needs.  SBA's finance programs enhance the ability of lenders to provide long- and short-term loans to small businesses that might not qualify through normal lending channels.
