AARP TAX-AIDE NEEDS VOLUNTEERS

More taxpayers than ever seek assistance in preparing their taxes.  AARP Tax-Aide, the nation's largest, free, volunteer-run tax counseling and preparation service needs volunteers to help taxpayers complete their income tax forms in 2003. This is a free community service program sponsored by AARP in cooperation with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Last year we had approximately 625 volunteers at 220 sites in Missouri. 

Volunteers will receive free training from AARP Tax-Aide, in cooperation with the Internal Revenue Service. In addition to Federal and Missouri income tax returns, the volunteers assist eligible seniors file for Property Tax Credit (often referred to as Circuit Breaker). They will then be asked to serve at least four hours per week from February 1 through April 15, 2003 at one of the many preparation locations.
