Science Center to collect 5,000 teddy bears in "Bear Hugs" campaign

Can you believe the teddy bear is 100 years old?  On November 16, 2002 the beloved teddy bear celebrates his 100th birthday.  

To mark the occasion, the St. Louis Science Center is collecting 5,000 teddy bears to be given to needy children during the holiday season.  In cooperation with The Salvation Army, the Science Center is asking visitors to bring a new teddy bear to the Science Center, 5050 Oakland Ave., between Nov. 16-Dec. 15.  

The first 5,000 people to bring in a new teddy bear for this campaign will receive a voucher redeemable for a ticket to see Bears in the OMNIMAXâ Theater.  In addition, the visitors can register to win a "giant" teddy bear at the Science Center ExploreStore.
