come out - 出櫃，表白自己是同性戀者 

A more liberal environment in recent years has led a growing number of homosexuals to come out.

近幾年由於社會環境較開放，讓更多的同性戀者勇於出櫃表白自己的性傾向。

Come out的全稱是come out of the closet，所以才叫「出櫃」，這個片語只適用於同性戀者，表示其不再對外隱瞞自己的身分。

Alan Duncan, the foreign affairs spokesman for Britain's main opposition party, told The Times newspaper on Monday that he is gay. 'The Tory view has always been, 'We don't mind, but don't say.' Well, that doesn't work any more,' Duncan was quoted as saying. 

Duncan Smith wrote to Duncan saying that his coming out would not harm his political career. Duncan Smith said, 'What you have done is honest and will not affect you in any way politically in the future.' While several members of parliament from the Labour Party are openly gay, no Tory legislator had publicly come out before.

英國在野的保守黨國會外交事務發言人、資深國會議員鄧肯，昨天接受倫敦泰晤士報專訪時坦承自己是男同性戀者。鄧肯在倫敦泰晤士報的訪問中說，雖然保守黨內對於他的同性戀傾向所持的態度是「我們不介意，但你也不要說」，但他認為假裝還是行不通。
