St. Louis Memory Walk 2002

Cardinal's pitcher Jason Isringhausen and KMOV-TV Channel 4 anchor Vickie 
Newton have been named honorary chairmen of the St. Louis Memory Walk 2002, 
scheduled for October 5 at Tower Grove Park,.

The chapter's goal for Memory Walk 2002 is $308,000 and the dollars raised 
will be used to fund programs and services for the approximately 65,000 
area residents who have Alzheimer's disease, their families and 
caregivers.  Services include a 24 hour Helpline service, support groups, 
educational programs for those struggling with the disease and family care 
planning.  The Alzheimer's Association also is the largest private funder 
of Alzheimer's research in the country.

In addition to the walks mentioned above, three others will be held: the 
Franklin County walk is scheduled for September 14 in Washington, Mo, the 
Jefferson County Walk is scheduled for September 21 in Festus, Mo, and the 
Metro East walk is scheduled for September 28 in Fairview Heights, Il.
