Greetings from OCA, St. Louis.  2003 is going to be an exciting year for OCA, St. Louis.  Ever since the 25th anniversary banquet, the OCA, St. Louis Board has been quietly working for you to bring values to each member.  We concluded the membership drive at the end of March.  We forwarded your membership dues to the OCA National office.  All paid members will begin to receive the Image Magazine starting from the end of April.  If you do not receive the magazine by the first week of May, I urge to contact me directly so that I can make sure you receive your copy.  I appreciate those of you who submitted your membership due on time.  Your support to OCA is greatly appreciated.
 
I am please to announce that we have concluded the framework for 2003 activities.  Although we still need to iron out few more details, we would like you to mark the following events on your calendar.
 
Saturday, May 3, 2003 - The Capitol Legislative Academy.  Please see the flyer.  Registration required.
 
Saturday & Sunday, May 17, 18 - Chinese Culture Days.  Missouri Botanical Garden.  Arts, crafts, dynasty fashion shows, children programs, acrobats, Puppet show, grand parade, folk dances, displays, and, of course, food.      
 
Friday night and Saturday, May 30, 31 - Midwest Chinese American Science & Technology conference.  Double Trees, Chesterfield.  YOCA leadership program and BJC Healthcare Seminar and Job Fair.
   
Leadership Development Programs - 3 sessions, Again, BJC, MasterCard, and Monsanto will be leading each of the sessions.  Topics will include Time Management, leading effective meetings, Effective communication in a hostile environment, Effective presentation skills, and Communication styles.  These programs will start in June and end in August.  A separate announcement is forth coming.
 
Thursday - Sunday, August 7 thru. 10 - OCA National Conference, the Aloha Style.  I encourage all of you to go.  I will announce the conference detail in late April.  Just in case you didn’t understand me yet, the National Conference in going to be in Honolulu, HI.   
 
Saturday, September 27 - OCA-STL, FCC, and YOCA joint picnic.  We are excited to work with FCC and YOCA on this event.  Details are being worked right now.  We will announce the details in late July.  Transportation will be provided to members who are not able to drive.
 
As you can see, the 2003 board is working very hard to serve you.  Majority of OCA activities are free of charge.  We want you to feel proud and be benefited from being a member of OCA.  I am attaching the Capitol Legislative Academy program announcement.  Let’s overwhelm our lawmakers on May 3 to show that Asian Americans is a force to reckon with by showing up.  Thank you and God bless you.
